U.S. Congresswoman Valerie Foushee, representing North Carolina’s 4th district, has taken to social media to address key issues impacting her constituents and the nation. Through a series of posts, Foushee highlighted legislative actions and civic initiatives of interest.

On April 7, 2025, Congresswoman Foushee focused on the global issue of rising temperatures, urging Congress to bolster community resources against extreme heat effects. She announced the introduction of the Cool Roof Rebate Act, a legislative measure developed in partnership with Representatives Emanuel Cleaver and Raul Ruiz. This act aims to assist households in acquiring reflective roofing products, a step towards reducing heat impact. "As temperatures rise globally, Congress must support communities with the resources needed to mitigate the effects of extreme heat. I'm introducing the Cool Roof Rebate Act with @RepCleaver and @RepRaulRuizMD to help households buy reflective roofing products."

Later the same day, Foushee drew attention to #AANHPIEqualPayDay on April 7, 2025, which highlights ongoing wage disparities faced by Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women. She reaffirmed her commitment to fighting for equal pay as part of both the Democratic Women's Caucus and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. "On #AANHPIEqualPayDay, we recognize the pay inequities that Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women continue to face across the nation. As a member of the @DemWomensCaucus and @CAPAC, I’m fighting for equal pay to close the wage gap once and for all."

On April 8, 2025, Foushee reminded participants of the Congressional Art Competition about the upcoming submission deadlines. She detailed the drop-off hours and location for entries at her Durham district office. This initiative provides a platform for young artists to showcase their work on a national stage.
