Durham, North Carolina is currently hosting the fifth annual Library Fest organized by the Durham County Library. The event, themed "The North Carolina Edition," will run until April 12, featuring discussions from notable authors and over 40 state-themed events in various locations throughout Durham. The event is made possible by the Durham Library Foundation and several community partners, providing residents with the opportunity to attend at no cost.

Security measures have been enhanced at Durham's Main Library with screening systems now in place at the main entrances and the Maker Lab. Given the rise in patrons due to the ongoing events, short queues may occur. The devices, which are sensitive to gadgets like cellphones and laptops, might trigger alarms. On average, the screening process for individuals takes approximately one to two minutes, ensuring a secure environment for all attendees.

The Durham Library Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, has supported the library's financial growth for a quarter-century. The Durham County Library is dedicated to fostering learning, uniting the community, and advancing literacy. Additional details about the library can be accessed at www.DurhamCountyLibrary.org.
