Durham Police Department issued the following announcement on Mar. 29.
Durham police are investigating a double homicide that happened Saturday night near the intersection of Holloway Street and N. Joyland Street.
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found two people who appeared to have been shot inside a vehicle. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. This does not appear to be a random incident.
This remains an active investigation and no further details are available at this time.
