Durham Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 10.
Last evening Chief Patrice Andrews was publicly sworn in as Durham's Police Chief. A ceremony was held on the campus of North Carolina Central University - her alma mater. Chief Andrews shared inspirational insights on why Durham has a special place in her heart, what inspired her to choose law enforcement as a career, and how the department and community must work in partnership to address challenges.
The Durham Police Department thanks program participants, all who attended (in person and virtually), and North Carolina Central University for their support.
