DURHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT: Temporary Recreational Burn Ban Has Been Lifted

Burningopen

Durham Fire Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.

Due to low humidity and no rain in the forecast, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture Forest Service has issued a temporary statewide ban on open recreational burning. In addition, Durham County and Durham City are issuing a temporary ban on burning around all occupied dwellings.

The current conditions put the area at high risk. We appreciate our resident's understanding and willingness to protect the community!
