Durham County Library is set to host its fifth annual Library Fest from April 7 to April 12. The event, titled The North Carolina Edition, is supported by the Durham Library Foundation alongside community partners, offering free programs and author talks. Over 40 North Carolina-themed events will take place across Durham.
Kicking off the event on April 7, sociologist and author Tressie McMillan Cottom will speak at Main Library. Dr. Zelda Lockhart will present "Writing Your Multigenerational Story" on April 10 at Duke University's Nasher Museum of Art. Young adult author Nita Tyndall will appear on April 12 at Main Library. Additionally, author Abriana Johnson will present Cowgirl Camryn events featuring Encore the Miniature Horse at various library locations.
Stephanie Fennell, Deputy Director of Durham County Library, stated, “Each year, Library Fest highlights everything that’s great about Durham County Library. We can’t wait to welcome the community to our spaces throughout the County.”
Arthur Rogers, Durham Library Foundation president, also shared his enthusiasm for the festivities, noting, “The Foundation always looks forward to sponsoring Library Fest. The support we provide is thanks to the Durham community’s generous donations. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Durham Library Foundation!”
