Durham Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 28.
As you clean up after the holiday, think about crime prevention, as well as recycling, when disposing of those large cardboard boxes. Boxes placed curbside for collection can be clues to thieves about valuables inside your residence. Keep those boxes out of public view until proper disposal. A strategy is to take boxes to one of the No Perched Packages collection sites below. Operation No Perched Packages disposal in in effect until January 7.
