United States Women’s National Team player Jaedyn Shaw is set to join the North Carolina Courage, marking a significant move for both the player and the team. The announcement was made on Tuesday, drawing attention from fans and media regarding its implications for the upcoming 2025 NWSL season.

Shaw has contributed 17 goals in regular NWSL seasons and scored eight times in her appearances for the national team. Her transfer to the Courage is seen as an opportunity for growth by commentators such as those on the Attacking Third show. They emphasized how Shaw's skills would fit into the team's attacking framework alongside players like Manaka Matsukubo and Ashley Sanchez.

Lisa Carlin from Attacking Third commented, “We get to see Manaka with Ashley Sanchez again as they continue to build that partnership, but now you throw Jaedyn Shaw into the mix... There is another level and another step for her, and this is a move and an opportunity that is going to be crucial for Jaedyn Shaw.”

Former Courage player Darian Jenkins also highlighted Shaw's potential impact: “They like possession... I think Jaedyn Shaw fits that to a T.” Jenkins believes that head coach Sean Nahas will play a pivotal role in pushing Shaw’s development further.
