North Carolina midterms sees Lucy Inman for Justice in cities associated with Durham County spend the most during Q1

Lucy Inman for Justice spent the most out of political committees within cities associated with Durham County during the first quarter of 2023.

It spent $12,623 on eight vendors during the time period.

The largest expense was for Unspecified Expenses to Riggs for Our Courts, which is based in the Raleigh area.

The second largest political spend from a committee operating in a city within Durham County during the first quarter of 2023 came from North Carolina Legal Fund. It spent $10,036 during the time period on two different vendors.

What’s known as “dark money”, which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.

Political campaign financial data is often updated, leading to a sometimes incomplete picture of a committee or candidate's finances.
