CITY OF DURHAM: Community Feedback Needed for Future of US 70 East Corridor

City of Durham issued the following announcement on Nov. 29.

If you live or travel along US 70 in east Durham, you know how congested and hazardous travel can be in that area. To help plan for the future of this busy highway, resident input is now being sought for the US 70 Corridor Study.

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO), the regional transportation planning agency, is hosting both virtual and in-person public meetings to better understand the travel needs of the community in the corridor.  Meetings will be hosted:

  • Tuesday, December 13, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Virtual Meeting
  • Thursday, December 15, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Virtual Meeting
  • Saturday, December 17, 11 a.m. – noon | In-Person Meeting
Visit the project website to find out more about the study, register for one of the upcoming meetings, and complete a short survey about your experience and vision for the corridor. The survey is open through January 6, 2023. All meetings will provide Spanish interpretation services. There will be a drawing for cash prizes for meeting and survey participants. Interested residents may also follow DCHC MPO on Facebook and Twitter.

Persons who require Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) assistance to attend the in-person meeting call (919) 560-4366, ext. 36444 or send an email no later than 48 hours before the event.
