City of Raleigh issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.
Raleigh Water will conduct a full closure of the Wade Avenue Eastbound ramp off Oberlin Road and the Oberlin Road exit ramp from eastbound Wade Avenue for a planned water improvement project beginning at 7:00 am on Monday, August 23. Closure is expected to last for two weeks while work schedules are subject to change.
DETOUR For Wade Avenue Eastbound ramp:
Motorists traveling northbound on Oberlin road will take a right on Fairview Road, a right on St. Mary’s Street and a left onto Wade Avenue.
Motorists traveling southbound on Oberlin Road will take a left on Clark Avenue, a left on St. Mary’s Street, and a right onto Wade Avenue.
DETOUR for Wade Avenue Exit Ramp for Oberlin Road South:
Motorists traveling eastbound on Wade Avenue will take a right on St. Mary’s Road, a right on Clark Avenue, and a right on Oberlin Road.
DETOUR for Wade Avenue Exit Ramp for Oberlin Road North:
Motorists traveling eastbound on Wade Avenue will take a left on St. Mary’s Road, a left on Fairview Road, and a left on Oberlin Road.
Motorists approaching these areas should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid these areas if possible. Motorists approaching this area should be aware of all posted traffic signs, detours, traffic cones, and work crews.
Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
This closure is part of the Oberlin Road Waterline Improvement Project.
