Town of Morrisville Fire/Rescue Department issued the following announcement on July 4.

A child’s body temperature can rise three to five times faster than an adult. About 46% of the time when a child is forgotten in a car, the caregiver meant to drop off their child off at a daycare or preschool.

The 2nd leading cause of vehicle heatstroke deaths are children getting into unattended cars. Always lock your car doors year-round. The temps inside a car can reach over 115 degrees when the outside temp is 70 degrees.
