Valerie Foushee, serving in the U.S. Congress for North Carolina’s 4th district, communicated on recent national issues via social media. Previously a member of the North Carolina Senate, Foushee has been outspoken on various social justice topics, including hate crimes, trans rights, and women's rights.

On March 29, 2025, Foushee reflected on President Biden's signing of the Emmett Till Antilynching Act into law three years ago. She urged the importance of sharing stories related to Black history and continuing to honor their lives through action.

On March 31, 2025, Foushee expressed her support for the trans community, saying, "While Trump and the GOP try to erase trans people, I’m proud to stand with my colleagues in the @EqualityCaucus as we celebrate #TransDayOfVisibility." She emphasized that transgender individuals should have the freedom to live openly and securely.

On April 1, 2025, Foushee discussed women's rights in light of recent political developments. She stated that "Since Trump took office, women across the country are feeling increasingly marginalized & vulnerable." She denounced actions by the GOP that aim to curtail rights, healthcare access, and opportunities for women.
