On March 5, 2025, Congresswoman Foushee expressed her condolences regarding the death of Congressman Sylvester Turner. She stated, "I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Congressman Sylvester Turner. Congressman Turner devoted his life to public service and the City of Houston. His dedication to our country will not be forgotten, and my thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time."

Later that day, she addressed voting rights concerns by announcing her participation in introducing new legislation. In her tweet from March 5, 2025, she remarked on ongoing political challenges: "60 years after the Voting Rights Act was signed, extreme Republicans are working to create new barriers to the ballot box.
