Congresswoman Valerie Foushee, representing North Carolina's 4th district, has recently addressed several issues through her social media platform. Her comments covered topics ranging from federal agency operations to international aid for maternal and newborn care.

On January 24, 2025, Congresswoman Foushee expressed concern over a decision by former President Trump regarding the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She stated that "Trump's decision to freeze @NIH communications and hiring leaves researchers in limbo, unsure if their research will continue. These indefinite delays hurt our ability to remain a global leader in scientific research & put critical projects in jeopardy."

Later on the same day, she offered assistance to constituents dealing with federal agencies. She tweeted at 19:20 UTC, "Navigating federal agencies for passports, work authorizations, VA benefits, and more can be difficult — but my casework team is here to help! If you need assistance with federal agencies, don’t hesitate to reach out to my Durham District Office at 919-967-7924."

In another tweet posted at 20:27 UTC on January 24, Foushee commended the funding provided by USAID for maternal and newborn care initiatives. She remarked that she was "Glad to hear that Durham-based @FHI360 is receiving $5M from @USAID to support maternal & newborn care in Mozambique & Nigeria. As maternal mortality rates increase worldwide, I'm proud to see #NC04 at the forefront of continuing these lifesaving efforts."
