City of Durham issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
The City of Durham Public Works Department will soon begin a two-week construction project to replace a section of compromised stormwater drainage pipe along Green Street.
Beginning on Monday, December 19, motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians on Green Street between North Buchanan Boulevard and Lancaster Street will be affected by a temporary road closure for this work.
Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians along Alley 7 between Green Street and West Markham Avenue will also be affected by periodic road closures.
The sidewalk on the north and south side of Green Street between North Buchanan and Lancaster Street will be closed to pedestrian traffic for the duration of this project.
A signed detour will be in place throughout this project to direct motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians around the construction area.
Construction is expected to last approximately two weeks depending on weather conditions.
