Durham parents soon will no longer have to wait at a bus stop with their children and wonder whether the bus is running late or if it came early.
Durham Public Schools has unveiled a new app that will let parents track school buses in real time.
“We have a new, more precise bus app that will give real-time information about where your child’s bus is and when it will arrive,” Joe Harris, executive director of Transportation for Durham Public Schools, told WNCN recently. “This new app will allow you to track your student immediately and with accuracy.”
The app known as Parent Portal was introduced to parents on Dec. 8, and it is available for download and public use now. It will take the place of the Here Comes the Bus app, which will go offline for Durham's school system by Jan. 1.
