CITY OF DURHAM: Durham Emergency Communications Center Achieved Reaccreditation

City of Durham issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.

Congratulations to our Durham Emergency Communications Center, which has just achieved reaccreditation thanks to its top-notch, in-house training standards!

Earlier this week, APCO International reaccredited our 911 Center with their APCO Agency Training Program Certification, an initiative of Project 33.

Achievement of this certifies that DECC's training curriculum complies with national standards for public safety telecommunicators.

The review evaluated the Center’s training curriculum, training materials, and supporting documentation to ensure it provides trainees with both the required content and focuses on the demonstration of decision and psychomotor skills cited within the APCO standards. The recertification is valid for three years.
