A recent drive-by shooting in Durham injured two people, and one man left thankful as a bullet just missed him.
“Believe it or not, I could feel the bullet come across my face, the wind of it,” Daniel Roberts, who was uninjured, said in a CBS17 report, “and then it hit the glass and the cooler after it came through the front glass. Luckily, God spared me; it wasn’t my time to go.”
The Friday shooting caused non-life-threatening injuries to two people. Businesses and vehicles were also struck by bullets, as 30 evidence markers peppered the scene.
Roberts confirmed the high number of shots, saying he heard between 25 and 30 gunshots.
The shooting occurred right next to Eastway Elementary School. The school was not in session for the year yet.
Alston Avenue was closed for about three hours as police conducted their initial investigation. No person of interest has been identified.
