Town of Morrisville Police Department issued the following announcement on July 1.
Did you know that each year, approximately 3,000 pedestrians and 800 bicyclists are hit by cars on NC streets? To help educate all North Carolinians and remedy this issue, the NCDOT has a program called Watch for Me NC. Educating drivers and having a high visibility enforcements by area police are the two main key goals of this program.
Watch for Me NC 2022 workshop schedule is now available. Register to attend any or all of the five-workshop series. Anyone from North Carolina with an interest in pedestrian and bicyclist safety is encouraged to attend Watch for Me NC workshops.
We all share the responsibility to make sure North Carolina roads are safe for everyone, including pedestrians and bicyclists. Safe places to walk and bike are important for supporting active, vibrant communities.
The “Watch for Me NC” program aims to reduce pedestrian and bicycle injuries and deaths through a comprehensive, targeted approach of public education, community engagement, and high visibility law enforcement.
