Durham has named Robin Patrick Wynn as its director of human resources. She starts her new position Tuesday.
Wynn had fulfilled a similar role since 2020 in Suffolk, Virginia, as well as had HR gigs at the Virginia Alcohol Beverage and Control Authority and the Burkes Companies in Atlanta, the city of Durham reported in a release. In all, she has 30 years' worth of senior HR experience.
"Robin has a proven track record of helping organizations address an array of complex personnel issues," City Manager Wanda Page said in the release. "As the City of Durham faces similar personnel challenges of attracting, recruiting, and retaining employees as other cities and other organizations across the country at this time, I am excited about the experience, knowledge, and creativity that she will bring."
Wynn attended St. Leo University, where she earned a human resources Bachelor of Arts degree, Durham reported. She has been a member of the Society for Human Resource Management for 25 years, as well as an HRCI senior professional in human resources.
"Employees are the strength of any workplace, especially those in public service," Wynn said in the release. "I am thrilled to have been selected to lead human resource activities for the City's nearly 2,600 employees that comprise the organization. Durham is a dynamic city with so much to offer, and I look forward to working with City employees and residents, and getting to know this great city."
