DURHAM POLICE DEPARTMENT: To Conduct Traffic Safety Operation in Durham

Safetycheck

Durham Police Department issued the following announcement on May 25.

Wednesday, Durham Police Department TACT, Durham County Sheriff's Office SCOPE/ Traffic unit, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol conducted a traffic safety operation in Durham. To address numerous community concerns about speeding and reckless driving, the units focused on NC-147, I-85, and I-40.

During the operation, 46 citations were issued. One driver was stopped for driving 96mph in a 60mph zone. These units are constantly doing their best to make sure Durham roads are safe for everyone to travel on.

DID YOU KNOW? If a driver travels 55mph instead of 45mph for a 10-mile trip, they would only save about 2 minutes of drive time?
