DURHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Board of Education Voted Unanimously To Continue Requiring Masks Of All Students and Staff

Maskstudent

Durham Public Schools issued the following announcement on Mar. 9.

The Durham Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to continue requiring masks of all students and staff in Durham Public Schools. That requirement remains in place even though the city and county are relaxing their own mask requirements effective March 7. Our school board is required by law to consider masking requirements every month, and will continue to rely on public health guidance as well as community feedback in order to make the best decision for the safety and wellness of our students and staff. We continue to urge people who are not vaccinated or boosted against COVID-19 to get their shots, and to keep the health of our entire community in mind—especially our fellow students, neighbors, and colleagues who have underlying high-risk medical conditions.
