COUNTY OF DURHAM: Watch the March ‘In Touch with Durham County’ Show

County of Durham issued the following announcement on Mar. 3.

The Durham County Public Information Office continues to bring residents who are also social distancing important information on our programs and services with the “In Touch with Durham County” show for March 2022 shot completely online and safe! 

The show is available to watch on the DCo YouTube channel here; as well as on the Durham County Government website and the Durham Television Network. 

In this month’s episode, host Deborah Craig-Ray, General Manager of Strategic Planning and Innovation, welcomes Commissioner Heidi Carter and Clerk to the Board Monica Wallace. 

Commissioner Carter returns to the show for the first time since 2017 and  has a conversation about her background as an elected official in Durham County, her approach in the role of Commissioner and some of the other roles she holds on boards and commissions. Carter also gives insight into some of the key issues and work she is focused on as well as how Durham County has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. In segment two, Wallace joins the show for the first time. She rose to the role of Clerk to the Board in 2019 after originally joining the County in 2013 as an administrative assistant. Wallace talks about her time in local government, as well as getting into some of the behind-the-scenes work that helps assure that residents are able to be involved with the Board of Commissioners’ work and Durham County Government as a whole. Her office is also the gatekeeper of Board records all the way back the early 1900s. Read more about the work of the Clerk to the Board’s office here.
