Durham Fire Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 15.

At 23:56, on 8/14/21, the Durham Fire Department responded with 44 total personnel to a structure fire in the 2000 block of Taylor St. Upon arrival of the first Engine they found a one-story wood framed residential structure with smoke showing from the roof. Within 15 minutes crews had pulled the ceiling and cut holes in the roof to find the fire in the attic space which was extinguished. No one was injured during this incident which is currently under investigation. The American Red Cross is assisting 9 total occupants of the home at this time. Dominion Energy and Duke Power were called to secure the utilities.
