County of Durham issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.
Durham County Tax Administration is preparing to mail annual property tax bills on August 13, 2021. Dwane Brinson, Director, Durham County Tax Administration, notes that taxpayers may also view their bill online here: bit.ly/viewtaxbill.
Current year bills are due by September 1, 2021 and may be paid without penalty through January 5, 2022. To ensure timely posting, please consider paying bills upon receipt or forwarding to your escrow department for payment.
Brinson added, “We offer payment schedules to apportion the full tax bill into a series of partial payments, but these must be established immediately upon receiving the bill. Timely payment allows jurisdictions to provide budgeted services while maintaining a low-as-possible tax rate”. Durham County Commissioners approved a countywide tax rate of 72.22 cents per $100 of property value.
