Durham Technical Community College professor Jay Lytton Peters donates $350 to Ted Cruz's campaign

Jay Lytton Peters, a professor at Durham Technical Community College, donated $350 to Republican Party candidate Ted Cruz, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $5,815 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Durham Technical Community College as of November 3. All of these contributions were made to Republican Party candidates and committees.

Jay L. Peters' contribution of $1,650 to Republican Party Martha Mcsally was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Durham Technical Community College since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
