PICKING UP THE MANTLE: BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION
The Picking Up the Mantle Black History Month Celebration is a reception sponsored by the Frederick Douglass Foundation of NC, Durham Co. GOP, and the Douglass Leadership Institute to celebrate the achievement of community leaders in the Durham County area. The February 27th event will be held at the headquarters of the Durham Co. Republican Party located at 800 N. Mangum St. (second floor). Featured speakers include Supreme Court Justice Newby and Rev. Clarence Henderson, a civil rights activist and Woolworth Sit-In participant along with other business and religious leaders. Open to the public. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.
