The City of Durham announced on April 14 that sewer work for the Parkwood Area Lift Station Consolidation Project will soon begin along Sedwick Road, near the intersection with Solitude Way. The contractor, Carolina Civilworks, Inc., is currently continuing sewer work near Grandale Drive at the existing pump station.

This update is important for residents and commuters in the area, as it may affect daily travel and parking. Lane shifts and closures are expected on Sedwick Road during this phase of construction, which is scheduled to start in the last week of April.

The city asks that cars not be parked along Sedwick Road between Solitude Way and Revere Road beginning in the last week of April to accommodate construction activities. This measure aims to ensure safety and minimize disruptions while crews carry out necessary improvements.

For questions about the ongoing work or specific concerns related to construction impacts, residents can contact members of the project team. Carolina Civilworks’ Project Manager Matt Green, City of Durham Inspections representative Jeff Frye, Brown and Caldwell Project Manager Ryan Sprowl, and City of Durham Project Manager Wade Tong are available by email for further information.

Further updates will be provided as construction progresses through this phase.
