Durham Public Schools issued the following announcement on Apr. 29.
There’s so much we can say about teachers and all of the good they represent and do, but what do we say to them? Two simply heartfelt words come to mind. Thank you. For doing front-line work that requires courage, humility, passion, and selflessness. For preparing our young people for life beyond the classroom. For influencing the lives of thousands of students who leave your classrooms and become contributing members of society. Durham Public Schools is beyond grateful.
