Durham Fire Department issued the following announcement on June 7.

At 4:23 p.m. on June 6, 2022 the Durham Fire Department was dispatched and responded with 32 personnel to a report of a structure fire in the 1200 block of Lincoln St. On arrival, firefighters reported smoke visible from the roof and fire showing from the right rear corner of the house. A car beside the house was also on fire. Attack lines were quickly put in place and the fire was under control in about 10 minutes. The house sustained major damage in the back portion and there was smoke damage throughout. There were no injuries and one of the houses next door sustained some minor heat damage. The fire caused a power line to burn into and fall on the ground which created some minor access issues. Duke Energy responded and assisted with securing the power line. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Durham County EMS stood by until fire department operations were complete. Five occupants were displaced but denied needing assistance from Red Cross.
