Durham Fire Department issued the following announcement on Mar. 14.

On March 13, 2022 at approximately 5:30 AM, the Durham Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire in the 2100 block of Strebor Street. The first units to arrive reported a 2 story residential structure with heavy fire coming from the roof. 

The department responded with 36 firefighters and it took them approximately 30 minutes to get the fire under control. The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident. 

The house sustained heavy fire damage throughout the home. The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation at this time. The department was assisted by Durham Police, and Durham County EMS.
