County of Durham issued the following announcement on Feb. 15.

The Durham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is working alongside fellow law enforcement agencies from Orange and Wake Counties regarding a local Durham subject captured last night in Hillsborough near Highway 86.

According to investigators, 28-year-old Eric David Rolon Feliciano of Durham was being sought in connection with a multitude of crimes, including numerous commercial and residential breaking and entering cases, the theft of multiple vehicles, and traffic violations committed while fleeing from several attempted traffic stops across a three-county area this week.

During the day yesterday (Thursday, February 10, 2022), DCSO Patrol Units spotted the wanted subject at Kerley & Cornwallis Roads driving a vehicle reported stolen out of Wake County, resulting in a pursuit that crossed into neighboring Orange County. Later, a witness saw the same car abandoned in a neighborhood and a man matching the suspect’s description running from the same vehicle into the woods. Deputies and other law enforcement officers set up a perimeter, ran a K-9 track, and eventually caught up to Rolon Feliciano several miles north and took him into custody without further incident. As of last night, he was being held in the Orange County Detention Center under a $155,000 secured bond on the Orange County charges.

Specific to Durham, DCSO has connected a stolen pick-up truck being involved with multiple larcenies of building materials across Durham County to Rolon-Feliciano. On Tuesday of this week, DCSO Patrol Units observed a stolen Dodge Ram 1500 model traveling across the intersection of Junction Road and Cheek Road loaded down with plywood. As deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled the busy intersection in a careless and reckless manner, avoiding authorities. The investigation has revealed the Dodge Ram 1500 was stolen from the northern section of Wake County along Weaver Trail near Cheek Road.

Specific charges against the arrested subject are pending in Durham County.

Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 919-560-0900 or Crimestoppers at 919-683-1200.
