Foushee, who has been serving since 2023 after replacing David Price, continues to focus on key issues such as civil rights recognition and scientific innovation.
On February 5, 2025, Congresswoman Foushee commemorated the historic actions of four Black students from North Carolina A&T State University who challenged segregation. She stated: “64 years ago, four Black @NCATSUAggies bravely challenged segregation and helped spark a nationwide movement that forever changed our country.” Foushee expressed pride in joining other representatives to introduce a resolution recognizing the Greensboro Four.
The following day, February 6, 2025, she tweeted about her dedication to advancing the United States’ leadership in scientific innovation. She mentioned: “I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to strengthen our nation’s position as a leader in scientific innovation and ensure safe and reliable infrastructure and transportation access for families across the country.”
In another tweet on the same day, Congresswoman Foushee announced her new roles within congressional committees. She wrote: “I am honored to announce that I will serve on the Energy Subcommittee and as Ranking Member of the Space & Aeronautics Subcommittee for @ScienceDems in the 119th Congress.” Additionally, she will be part of the Rail and Aviation subcommittees with Transport Democrats.
