On February 2, 2025, Foushee expressed her sorrow over the death of Captain Rebecca Lobach, a Durham native and UNC graduate. In her post, she stated: “I’m saddened to hear that Durham native and UNC graduate, Captain Rebecca Lobach, was among the victims of the crash at Reagan National Airport.”

Following up on her initial message on the same day, Foushee paid tribute to Captain Lobach’s service and extended her sympathies: “Captain Lobach was a dedicated officer with a bright future and her service to our country will not be forgotten. I offer my heartfelt condolences to her family and all those affected by this horrible tragedy.”

On February 3, 2025, Foushee addressed an issue involving former President Trump and Elon Musk. She claimed they were attempting to close an agency established by Congress unlawfully. She warned about the severe consequences of such an action: “Trump & Musk are trying to illegally shut down an agency established by Congress. Shuttering USAID will have a disastrous global impact. This reckless move not only threatens our national security & public safety but will cost many Americans their jobs.”
