On March 21, 2025, Foushee commemorated the historic Selma to Montgomery march in a tweet: “Sixty years ago, following Bloody Sunday, thousands of heroic civil rights activists began their march from Selma to Montgomery to fight for voting rights. Their bravery led to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and we honor their legacy by continuing to fight against voter”.
Later that day, she highlighted her visit to Randy’s Five Star Academy with a focus on early childhood education programs: “It was great visiting Randy’s Five Star Academy to discuss the importance of Head Start and childcare programs. The Trump Administration is stripping funding from centers like these that provide support to local working families and a safe space for children to learn and grow.”
