On February 6, 2025, Congresswoman Foushee announced the permanence of the IRS Direct File program for taxpayers in North Carolina. She stated that “Great news! The IRS Direct File program is now a permanent option for taxpayers in North Carolina to file their federal taxes.” She highlighted that over 1,670,000 residents are eligible for this free tool created by House Democrats.

Later on the same day, she expressed concerns regarding Elon Musk’s access to confidential NASA information. In her tweet, she mentioned that “The CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, having access to confidential @NASA information is a security breach and conflict of interest.” As Ranking Member of the Space Subcommittee, she joined Representative Zoe Lofgren in requesting NASA to clarify its interactions with DOGE.

On February 7, 2025, Congresswoman Foushee addressed issues related to education policy. She criticized Acting Secretary Carter of the U.S. Department of Education for ignoring requests for a meeting.
