CITY OF RALEIGH: Yard Waste Center Closed due to Fire

City of Raleigh issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

On September 9, 2022, at approximately 1:50 p.m., the Raleigh Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at the City of Raleigh Yard Waste Center, located at 900 N. New Hope Rd. The equipment fire was contained at 2:15 p.m. with no injuries to City personnel or customers.

The Yard Waste Center will remain closed for public yard waste deliveries as personnel assesses damage to facility equipment and grounds. We do not anticipate an interruption to residential yard waste service at this time.

A restart date for all Yard Waste Center services has not been determined. Residents can monitor the City of Raleigh website and social media channels for updates.
