CITY OF RALEIGH: Section of Wade Avenue and Ramps To Be Closed From July 8 Through July 11 and July 15 Through July 18

City of Raleigh issued the following announcement on July 8.

Raleigh Water will conduct a closure of Wade Avenue from Capital Boulevard to Scales Street in Raleigh NC for a planned water improvement project beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 8 through 6 a.m. Monday, July 11; and again, from Friday, July 15 beginning at 7 p.m. through 6 a.m. Monday, July 18. The traffic ramps from Northbound Capital Boulevard to Westbound Wade Avenue and Southbound Capital Boulevard to Westbound Wade Avenue will be closed to all traffic. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather and other factors. 

DETOUR:

  • Motorists travelling northbound on Capital Boulevard will take the Wake Forest Road exit, turn left on East Whitaker Mill Road, left on Glenwood Avenue and back onto Wade Avenue. 
  • Motorists travelling southbound on Capital Boulevard will take the Peace Street exit, turn left on Peace Street, then right on Glenwood Avenue and back onto Wade Avenue. 

Motorists approaching these areas should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid these areas if possible. Motorists approaching these areas should be aware of all posted traffic signs, CLOSURES, traffic cones, and work crews.
