The City of Durham announced on Feb. 27 that work will continue on the NC-54 Waterline Replacement Project, with crews scheduled for nighttime installation along Falconbridge Road in early March.

The update is important for residents and businesses in the affected areas, as it outlines upcoming construction activities and potential impacts to traffic and water services.

According to the city, Crew #1 will begin installing a water main along Falconbridge Road leading into the Falconbridge Shopping Center. Mobilization is set for March 2, with nighttime work planned from March 3 to March 5. Crew #2 will continue installing a water main within an easement west of George King Road during this period. The city also noted that additional information about the project can be found at its official website.

For the week of March 9-13, Crew #1 will install water services along the service road north of NC-54 (Nelson Highway), while Crew #2 will start waterline installation near Stancell Drive east of Downing Creek Parkway. Temporary lane closures are planned for the eastbound lane on Stancell Drive between Little John Road and Downing Creek Parkway beginning in late March.

Residents seeking more details or wishing to contact project managers can reach Jeremy Farlow, Construction Team Manager at the City of Durham, or Jacob Coats, Project Manager at Moffat Pipe, Inc., via email as provided in the city’s announcement.
