The City of Durham released an update on Feb. 27 regarding ongoing work for the East Durham Waterline Replacement Project, with construction activities scheduled through late March.

The update outlines continued efforts to improve water and sewer infrastructure in the area, aiming to minimize disruptions while maintaining essential services and access to public spaces.

According to the city’s announcement, construction crews will continue installing sanitary sewer lines near Linwood Avenue between Lincoln and Grant streets, close to Grant Park North. Access to Grant Park North will remain open during this period. The contractor is also expected to deliver equipment, materials, and traffic control devices throughout the project area while clearing existing and proposed sanitary sewer easements and rights-of-way between Grant Street and Lincoln Street. In addition, utility location work will be ongoing in preparation for further installations.

Intermittent lane closures are planned within the project area during the weeks of March 16-20 and March 23-27 as contractors locate utilities and prepare for new installations. The city encourages residents seeking more information about the project or updates on progress to visit its official website at https://www.durhamnc.gov/3853/East-Durham-Waterline-Replacement.

For questions or concerns related to construction activities, residents can contact Jeremy Farlow, Construction Team Manager at City of Durham, or Jason Knight, Project Manager at Moffat Pipe Inc., using their provided email addresses.
