The City of Durham announced on March 27 that construction work for the East Durham Waterline Replacement Project will continue in the coming weeks, with activities focused near Linwood Avenue between Lincoln and Grant streets.

This update is important for residents and commuters in the affected area, as it outlines ongoing construction efforts and expected traffic changes. The city also directs residents to additional information about the project on its official website.

According to the city, from March 30 to April 3 and again from April 6 to April 10, construction crews will proceed with sanitary sewer installation near Grant Park North. Access to Grant Park North will be maintained throughout this period. The contractor is coordinating with local residents to schedule dye testing that will confirm active sanitary sewer service locations. Equipment deliveries, clearing of easements and rights-of-way, as well as utility location work are all scheduled during these weeks.

Intermittent lane closures are expected within the project area while contractors locate existing utilities and prepare for further installations. The city encourages patience among residents as these necessary improvements move forward.

For more details or questions regarding the project, contacts have been provided: Jeremy Farlow serves as Construction Team Manager for the City of Durham ([email protected]), while Jason Knight is Project Manager at Moffat Pipe, Inc. ([email protected]).
