Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) announced on March 10 the appointment of Anita Brown-Graham as vice chair of its board of trustees and the CuraCor Solutions board of directors. Brown-Graham will support Ned Curran, who serves as board chair for both Blue Cross NC and CuraCor Solutions.

The organization also named Eric Fletcher, Brian Fork, and Andrew Mueller, M.D., as new members of its board of trustees. These individuals will additionally serve on the CuraCor Solutions board of directors. The appointments are intended to strengthen strategic guidance across Blue Cross NC’s health care initiatives by bringing in leaders with backgrounds in health care, education, business, and finance.

Ned Curran said, “Anita’s appointment as vice chair reflects her proven leadership and steady guidance during a period of continued transformation. Additionally, we are fortunate to welcome three board members whose backgrounds span health care delivery, public policy, and complex organizations. Together, this group strengthens our board’s ability to provide thoughtful oversight and long-term strategic directions.”

Eric Fletcher is a partner at Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard with experience in litigation and public policy. He previously served as General Counsel to former North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper. Brian Fork is Chief Executive Officer of Hurricanes Holdings LLC and has held senior roles in state government and economic development. Andrew Mueller is President and CEO of MaineHealth with experience leading integrated health systems.

Blue Cross NC recently reorganized as a subsidiary under CuraCor Solutions following authorization by the bipartisan Reorganization & Economic Development Act. This structure allows the company to more quickly invest in new health programs and technologies while remaining a not-for-profit entity based in North Carolina.

CuraCor Solutions includes Blue Cross NC among its family of companies along with FastMed LLC, Brighton Healthplan Solutions, ACS Benefit Services (wholly owned subsidiaries), Echo Health Ventures, Alo Solutions, and Avance Care (affiliated entities).
